About

Ryan serves as the Technology Integrator for College of Engineering’s Center for Design and Manufacturing Excellence (CDME) having joined the team in April of 2017. In this role, Ryan is the client interface who translates science and engineering discoveries into economic and societal benefits through strategic partnerships across Ohio State’s campus, within the State of Ohio and nationwide. Prior to his role with CDME, Ryan was most recently Director of Development, Corporate Relations, in The Ohio State University Foundation for four years. Focusing on large, corporate partners that have a multi-college interest in the university, Ryan aligned their interests in research, student recruitment and societal impact with the many philanthropic opportunities available throughout campus. Before joining the Foundation, he was a Senior Licensing Associate for ten years in Ohio State’s Technology Commercialization Office, focusing on the technical and market assessment, patentability and licensing of the university’s inventions. Previous to his return to Ohio State, Ryan worked for three years as a Mastering Engineer for Metatec International, Inc., a global CD-ROM and DVD-ROM manufacturer, and as a Staff Engineer for two years at Ohio State’s Engineering Research Center for Net-Shape Manufacturing. Ryan received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering followed by a Master of Science degree in Industrial Systems Engineering, both at Ohio State. More recently, Ryan completed a Master of Human Resource Management degree from Ohio State’s Fisher College of Business. He was certified as a Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio and is a member of Network of Academic Corporate Relations Officers (NACRO).
