Eric is the Collaboration Manager for CDME and will act as a Growth Advisor for the MEP program. He oversees the development of value accretive projects for companies of all size across multiple industries. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of business growth impediments for small and medium sized businesses and the creation of a business strategy to address them. Engagements will often include assisting companies with the acquisition of growth capital from a variety of sources which include angel, venture, growth, grants and supply chain partner funding. Previous to CDME, Eric was at the Technology Commercialization Office (TCO) at Ohio State where he developed and executed a strategic roadmap for the university’s intellectual property and engineering technologies where is participated in over 14 start-ups.
Prior to coming to Ohio State, Eric worked as a program manager at Southwest Research Institute before joining D&SCI, an aerospace and defense commercialization start-up, in 2000. Over the next 12 years, he held positons of increasing responsibility from vice president, chief operating officer and culminating with 3.5 years as the president of the company with annual revenues in excess of $270 million. Eric was responsible for mergers/acquisitions, commercial product development and growth strategy of the company. He instructs lean business model canvas methodology for the I-Corps@Ohio program and guest lectures at the university. Eric is a member of the Ohio Technical Angels and an active angel investor. He has a B.S. in computer science and an executive MBA from Ohio State.
