About

Michael is currently the Executive Director for the TEC Institute.  He is an entrepreneur, innovator, educator, and senior business analyst with more than twenty years of experience in architecting innovative models for the rapid monetization and commercialization of technology, including the design and launch of new ventures. Michael has served as senior executive, board advisor and strategic consultant for new and growing technology companies in a number of diverse technology verticals. Most recently Michael has served as the Executive Director of the Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization (TEC) Institute at The Ohio State University and as the co-founder and principal of Prophetech Global IP Solutions. As the lead strategist and senior administrative officer for the TEC Institute, Michael is the chief architect of numerous proprietary technology evaluation protocols and IP marketing and monetization services. Since 2007, the TEC Institute has trained nearly 400 interdisciplinary graduate students and reviewed the commercial potential of more than 400 scientific discoveries resulting in the formation of 35 technology commercialization companies that have raised more than $30 million in all forms of venture funding. He will leverage is experience and background to support the MEP. 

Inc. (the magazine) recently recognized Michael as one of the ten most influential entrepreneurship faculty with real-world experience in America and profiled his commercialization class as one of the ten most innovative courses. In 2011, he received the coveted Leavey Award for pedagogical innovation for his unique approach to training in technology commercialization. He was the 2009 Olympus Innovation Award recipient for the TEC Institute based on the number and quality or real-world outcomes produced in that program. In 2008, Fortune Small Business recognized Michael as one of the top entrepreneurship professors in the country.
